Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them and they will be granted you. Mark 11:24

40 Days of Prayer & Fasting

We will be joining Northwest Church for 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting starting January 2, 2019. Please use the following resources to assist and guide you during this time.

The 40 Days of Prayer Guide is created to equip the Body of Christ to come together, joining our hearts and minds in one accord to see a move of God in our community. We invite you to use this website to walk you through the 40 Days of Prayer. At the top right, click on the three lines to access the guide for each day. Use the prompts to begin your prayers and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you.

One of the ways to set ourselves apart in order to hear His voice is through fasting.  To set aside something good (like food) in order to express need for something greater (His voice & direction).  Fasting can be powerful, if our focus is on Him and we believe that He wants to speak to us.  Fasting is NOT a way to manipulate God to speak to us nor is it a works-based dedication.  As we seek the Lord as a church family, may our hearts be full of love, expectation and hunger for Him.  It will be fun!  We are so glad that you will be joining us on this journey.

Take some time to understand and prepare yourself in advance to get the maximum benefit. This might include weaning off of caffeine, purging your house of sweets or processed foods, or filling your pantry with the types of food permitted for your chosen fast. If you are on a TV fast, consider where you can hide your remote or if on a social media fast, let your friends know you’ll be absent for awhile.

One type of food fast is the Daniel Fast and this info can help with ideas for a food fast. Other types of fasts may not involve food. You might fast from TV, social media, secular music, or anything else that consumes your time that you could otherwise devote to prayer and spiritual reading.

Let us set ourselves apart for the Lord and watch how he moves among us!
