Help Grow The Edge Community Garden

Northwest Church – Edgewood (formerly The Edge) supports a community garden to serve the local community in need of fresh organic food. You can help grow The Edge Community Garden by sharing your time, talent, and treasure. We need volunteers to help plant, water, pick, and distribute food. No church affiliation is required. Contact our project manager Kile Rury if you’d like to help or visit our Facebook group. You can volunteer to water by going to

You can give a tax deductible gift directly through our Donate page or mail a check with Comment: Community Garden to Northwest Church Edgewood, PO Box 1198, Edgewood, WA 98354.

Intentionally growing food to give away can help those in need.

The Edge Community Garden is here to serve the community at-large by using GreenStalk Vertical Planters . We also have a large field that could easily support crops like corn and vine crops in the future. As a demonstration garden, we want to encourage community members to grow their own gardens and share from their abundance, to reach even more people.

These GreenStalks would primarily be salad garden planters and include varieties of lettuce, kale, swiss chard, spinach,  strawberries, peppers, and cherry tomatoes, that people would regularly use for healthy meals.

Our community garden project manager owns a GreenStalk and has already been sharing the abundance it produces with the community. His experience with the GreenStalk Vertical Planter, growing up on a farm, and experience with raised beds caused him to realize that this would be the easiest and most productive way to do a community garden. They also help conserve on precious water resources compared to other methods. In 2019 we won the Best Utilization of Space award from Greenstalk. Learn about what a GreenStalk is.
